The active ingredient in bendroflumethiazide is bendroflumethiazide. It comes in two strengths: 2.5mg and 5mg per tablet.
One 2.5mg tablet per day is the normal starting dose. Your doctor may increase this dose if necessary. If you are older, you may be given a lower dose. The dose will also differ if this medication is being used to treat fluid retention.
If you forget to take a dose and it is almost time for your next dose, you can skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose.
You should not take more Bendroflumethiazide than you need. If this happens, you should immediately contact your doctor. Overdose symptoms include thirst, increased frequency and quantity of urination, and changes in the level of salts in the blood.

if you are taking any prescription, non-prescription or herbal medicine;
if you are having surgery, including dental surgery; or
if you are to undergo anaesthesia and a major surgery or LDL aphaeresis.
